Hardwood Floor Refinishing in New Jersey
We sand worn hardwood back to bare wood, repair damaged boards, and seal it with fresh finish. Same floor, brought back to life, for a fraction of the cost of replacing it.
Bring back the floor you already have
Scratches, gray traffic paths, old yellowed finish and water marks usually sit in the top layer of a hardwood floor. Solid hardwood can be sanded down past that damage and refinished, often more than once over its life. That's why refinishing is usually the best value in flooring: you keep the real wood and skip the cost of new material.

How we refinish hardwood floors
1. Walkthrough and estimate
We come to you, measure each room, and check board thickness, loose boards, cupping and stains so you know up front whether refinishing, repair or replacement makes sense.
2. Prep and protection
Furniture comes out, doorways are taped, and plastic goes up so dust stays in the work area.
3. Sanding to bare wood
We make coarse-to-fine passes with a drum sander and an edger along the walls, typically stepping through grits like 36, 60, 80 and 100, so the old finish is fully removed and the surface is smooth.
4. Repairs
Damaged or stained boards are cut out and replaced, and gaps are filled so the floor reads as one surface.
5. Stain or natural
Keep the natural color of the oak, or pick a stain from test patches on your own boards, so there are no surprises.
6. Finish coats
We seal the wood and apply polyurethane coats in the sheen you choose, from matte to gloss, then do a final walkthrough with you.

Questions
Hardwood Floor Refinishing questions
Can my hardwood floors be refinished?
Most solid hardwood can be sanded and refinished, often several times. Engineered wood depends on how thick its top layer is. We check during the free walkthrough.
How long does refinishing take?
It depends on the size of the area, repairs and how many coats you choose. We give you a schedule with your estimate, including when you can walk on the floor and move furniture back.
Can I change the color of my floors?
Yes. Once the wood is sanded bare, it can be stained a new color or kept natural. We test colors on your own boards first.
Do I need to leave the house?
Not always, but you'll need to stay off the floors being worked on while finish dries. We plan the order of rooms with you.
